When you first buy shares in Howden Joinery Group Plc you are given a unique shareholder reference number. This is shown on all share certificates and on dividend counterfoils relating to your account. We recommend that you keep a separate record of your shareholder reference number, which should be quoted in all correspondence.
If you bought shares at different times and the name and address you supplied differ, even slightly, from the existing details held by our Registrar, Equiniti, another account may have been created. If this happens and you want the accounts combined, you should contact Equiniti giving your full name and address and, if possible, providing your shareholder reference number (see question 1) for each account. You should note that existing share certificates will remain valid.

If your certificates are lost, stolen or destroyed, you should contact Equiniti as soon as possible, especially as lost or stolen certificates have the potential to be used fraudulently.

If you want to give or sell your shares directly to someone that you know, you can transfer your holding using a stock transfer form. You can download a stock transfer form from Equiniti's website at www.shareview.co.uk. You should post the completed form (with stamp duty paid where appropriate) to Equiniti, along with the relevant share certificate(s).

Howden Joinery Group Plc shares can be traded through most banks or stockbrokers. The commission charged for buying and selling shares will vary between organisations.

If shares were held in joint names, the account can simply be re-registered in the sole name of the other holder. The Registrar, Equiniti, will need the original or an official copy of the death certificate to amend the register.
If you manage the estate of a recently deceased shareholder you should contact Equiniti and advise of details of the late shareholder. These should include the full name and address of the late shareholder, and the Company in which the shares are held. Equiniti will then communicate the full legal requirements for the registration of death.

If you hold 2500 shares or fewer, you can change your registered address quickly and easily by telephoning Equiniti. For security, if you hold more than 2500 shares you will need to write to Equiniti.
